green for guava, yellow for mango, Tala for women photogs

When I was younger, Teacher Felma asked me to label fruits with colors. As if I was God. Green for guava, yellow for mango and red for cherries. It was an absolutely horrifying dictatorship! Didn’t they know there are red guavas, green mangoes and… are our mansanitas really cherries? Utter shame.

Thank God there is more democracy when you grow up! You can smash your car on the railings and people would just say, “yeah, must be drunk,” Or you can borrow tons of money from the credit card company and they would just send you letters and call you a lot like your boyfriend does.

Anyways, what’s also good about being an adult is that you can call on friends and they can call their friends and you can all make a cool group. Yeah, how cool is that?

So now we have come up with a lovely group of our own. No, it is not a rock band. But it is way cooler you suckers. It is a collective of women photographers in the country. And it is called Tala--the Tagalog term for star. Yeah! \m/
